Auburn shortly became a shipping and supply center for gold camps. Auburn has many historical attractions that draw visitors from all over the country including, the Auburn Iron Works, Joss House, Old Town Firehouse, the Placer County Courthouse, Commercial Street, Hotel Auburn, Auburn City Hall and Fire Station, and the Bernhard House.
